Our Staff

The Queen

Lilly is a 10 year old Catahoula mix that we adopted from the Zeus’ Place of New Orleans. Her mother was abandoned on their doorsteps and gave birth on the sidewalk. We found her when she was 4 weeks old and we picked each other. 6 weeks later she came home.

Our “old lady” has travelled with us from New Orleans to Alaska to Belize, riding in the back of our SUV making sure that every passerby was greeted with barks and a wagging tail. We describe her as “aggressively friendly” because she looks like she wants to chase you away but all she really wants is an ear scratch and a treat. Rest assured, she will try to come look in your cabaña for any treats or ear scratches she can find.

The Security

Jack is a 4 year old Lab mix that joined us in Alaska. For some reason, his previous humans decided he was too much to handle so they surrendered him to Juneau Animal Rescue which is where we met him. We had just lost our 2 ½ year old pup to a rare genetic disease and were devastated. Jack filled the void and stole our hearts.

He made the journey from Juneau to Belize protecting us from EVERYTHING along the way. Dogs, people on the street, cats, bicycles, motorcycles, paper bags, he never met anything he didn’t greet with a bark. Be ready, he’ll bark at you too and let us know when you arrive and when you leave but give him 10-15 minutes and he’ll be shaking your hand & protecting you too.

The Entertainment

Enter Rags aka Ragamuffin, Rags to Riches, Raggedy Anne. She is a local puppy rescued from the streets of Belize. Commonly referred to as a “Potliquor”, we found her with a busted leg, fleas, and worms. After a couple of weeks of baths, dewormers, and TLC, she has taken up residence as our silly sack of energy that finds everything entertaining.

Her shrill bark can be alarming but after a minute or two, Rags will be running around, chasing sticks, tossing her toys in the air, and pestering Jack. Her one true love in this world is a good belly rub, give her that, and she’s your friend for life. Oh, and she’ll jump in your golf cart anytime you head out because she wants to see the world and meet everyone in it.

About The Humans

From Alabama to New Orleans, to Juneau, to Belize is quite a journey for anyone, but for Jenry and Mike, it has been a destination long in the making. Along the way Mike's culinary and Jenry's nutrition/hospitality expertise has resulted in a paradise that they'd love to share with y'all!
